I recently picked up this Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Hydrogel Mask at I think Target for like $1 (after coupons, score!) Here are my honest feelings about the product. This is not a paid review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

At first, I was super excited to try this. I’m a sucker for masks (I’ve got a billion in my bathroom cupboard) and with my coupon I knew I had to grab it. I’m generally a fan of Neutrogena products. I remember my stepmom using their basic facewash growing up and I was a big fan. Since my skin is also super dry I figured the added hydration benefits would be great for my skin.

Unfortunately, this mask didn’t cut it for me. The packaging was cute (favorite color is blue) and the price was right but it just.. didn’t work for me. I felt the mask didn’t stick on the skin well like other sheet/gel masks do. I constantly had to reapply the bottom half to stay on my skin.

The smell was pleasant enough but I’m pretty sure the fragrance irritated my skin. When I woke up this morning, my cheeks were red and blotchy and I’ve got little raised bumps on my cheekbones. =(

I couldn’t even leave it on my skin for the full 15 minutes due to it’s constantly falling off and finally just getting sick of the damn thing and taking it off.

Not sure why this mask was so difficult compared to other one but I don’t think I’d repurchase this again, even if a coupon made it nearly free.

Now, don’t necessarily let this deter you from trying it out. I’m a big believer in trying products yourself because reviews are just guidelines. They aren’t the end-all, be-all of anything. Just because this mask didn’t work for me DOESN”T mean it can’t work for you.

If you’ve tried this mask, let me know how your skin reacted to it. What were your thoughts?
