Flat irons, blow-dryers, and other hot tools should always be used in moderation. Heat damage, be it a few split ends or a straight-up fried mess, is inevitable. But come summertime, we’ve got to worry about that, in addition to the poofiness that occurs when attempting to maintain a hairstyle that requires daily touch-ups amidst the…
Yay!! I was so excited to see this beautiful glossy box (the pictures don’t do the box justice) sitting on my table when I got home from work. Without further ado, the unveiling!
Not pictured is the $3/15 beauty coupon you receive in these boxes. I haven’t tried everything yet but my first impressions are:
The Love Beauty and Planet shampoo and conditioner come in the Coconut Water and Mimosa Flower set. These smell AMAZEBALLS and I am super excited to use these.
I’ve already tried the Schmidt’s natural deodorant. I’ve been wanting to try this brand for awhile; the scent isn’t overwhelming and it’s got incredibly staying power. I need to use it at work for a grueling 8 hour workday (I work in retail… lets see how it holds up). I’ll update once I know how it withstands that!
The Method body wash has a pleasant, yet subtle scent. I really like natural/organic products and Method is a brand that touts those two things.
The face products I’m really excited to try as I’m totally into skin-care products. Masks are like.. my life. I try and use one at least once a week. I love that the other two face lotions come in trial sizes as I can throw them in my purse and hydrate on the go.
If you’ve received this beauty box, let me know what you’re excited about in the comments below. Thanks!! Stay beautiful, beauties!

I’m a big fan of hair care products. After my pregnancy, my hair has been an incredible nightmare… I had high hopes for this shampoo that had claims like “stimulate hair growth” and “lends extra strength to hair follicles”. My thoughts?? Keep reading…
The shampoo had a nice lathering effect and I felt like I was getting a really deep clean. The scent was pleasant in an androgynous sort of way. After showering, my hair did feel fuller than it had before so there was definitely some volume going on (which was nice). I also noticed a slight decrease in the amount of hair I was losing which I was DEFINITELY appreciative of.
Unfortunately, after my hair had dried (air dried one night, blow dried the next) it was left looking shiny, yet dry at the same time. My hair literally felt like straw. It was so gross…
That, coupled with the $40 price tag (OUCH!!) means lil ole me will definitely NOT be purchasing this shampoo again.
FINAL RATING: 3/5
The only reason I don’t rate it lower is because I did like the fact that my hair loss was minimized. I was really bummed because I had such high hopes for this shampoo. Ah well, back to the drawing board!
Have you ever used Dermaheal products before? What has been your experience with them??

About a month ago, I had the opportunity to test out Garnier’s Triple Nutrition Shampoo and Conditioner. With Avocado, Shea and Olive oils, this formula is meant to make your hair touchably soft and nourished. Sounds perfect for my dry hair!! Here are my thoughts.
I loved the packaging. They recently came out with a more eco-friendly bottle (score!!) which contains 30% more recycled material. I love the dark green bottle and the easy-open cap. I also love that this shampoo and conditioner are inexpensive, a must for my budget! (You can purchase these products here).
When I first started using the shampoo and conditioner, I was nervous. I have tried Garnier products in the past and haven’t been pleased. My hair always ended up looking very greasy and limp. However, I was very pleasantly suprised to see that with a few weeks use, my hair started looking shiny (in a non-greasy sorta way) and felt pleasant to the the touch.
The only hitch to these shampoos were that after frequent use, I have had to condition twice to get the initial softness I felt upon first usuage. Not really a dealbreaker, but not very convienent either. As my hair is super dry, the extra conditioning isn’t so bad but wanted to give you ladies a headsup as its definitely not very time-friendly if you have to shampoo AND condition twice.
Overall, I’m very pleased with these products. Whatever Garnier has done with their shampoo formula has worked as my hair hasn’t felt greasy or limp at all. I am willing to give Garnier more of a chance now after having a positive experience with their Triple Nutrition system.

Awhile back, I wrote about how I loved Suave’s Clarifying Shampoo because it was budget-friendly and did a great job for being just under $2 a bottle. It’s fantastic at what it does and my hair felt quite nice after using it.
However, I’ve been intrigued by Frederic Fekkai’s Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo. I’ve seen so many advertisements for it and I’m a sucker for anything apple cider! I haven’t wanted to shell out the cash for it because at $25 a bottle, its definitely wayyyy too pricey for my budget. But I wanted to get some opinions about it. Has anyone ever tried this shampoo? Is it truly worth the $25 price tag? Honestly, I can’t see how any shampoo could truly be worth so much money when I’ve found great shampoos at Target for much less.
The claims on this shampoo range from promising to remove residue and buildup without stripping color or moisture from your hair and also enhancing shine.
So ladies, tell me what you think! Is this shampoo truly worth $25 a bottle? Is ANY shampoo ever worth that much? Would love your feedback!!
