One of the most under-rated drugstore beauty brands (imo) is Physician’s Formula. I usually score my PF products at CVS combining coupons and extra-bucks (their rewards card incentive). Today, I’m featuring 5 of my favorite products that I use together or with other products in my makeup bag.
First, my fave of the bunch. This is PF’s Organic Wear Bright Booster Oil Elixir. Retailing for $14-16 depending on which store you purchase at, this booster is seriously great for dry skin. It’s smooth going on and has a pleasant herbal scent. They tout 99.5% organic ingredients and it comes with a self-loading dropper to apply the product with. I’ve been using it for two weeks and I love how it’s smoothing out my skin-tone and making me look more radiant overall. I’ve used it under my makeup or under moisturizer at night before bed.
Next, we have PF RefreshMint Cucumber and Bamboo Eye De-Puffer. Retailing for $9.95, this is a cooling and refreshing way to treat your under-eyes. As an added tip, stick it in the fridge for an even more refreshing pick-me-up. Use it in conjunction with other eye-care products and have beautiful peepers!!
Third, we have PF Organic Wear BB Cream (pictured in the Light/Medium shade). Retails for $14.95-16.95 depending on stores. I actually really love this as a spot-concealer or for a day where I don’t want to wear makeup but my skin needs a little smoothing out. It only comes in two shades which is a bit of a bummer as I don’t feel like this shade completely matches me. However, it doesn’t cake and it doesn’t feel tacky.
Next up, we’ve got the PF InstaReady Face Primer which retails for $12.95 (currently on sale for $6.49 by clicking on the link). This face primer is sleek, smooth and I find it helps blur some of the fine lines on my skin. However, it doesn’t play well with some of my face moisturizers. I’ve noticed when I use my SPF cream that this primer tends to bead up on my skin and doesn’t glide on anymore. Because of this, this primer has become my “going-out at night” product as I don’t need to use SPF cream at night.
Last, but certainly not least, is the PF Nude Wear Touch of Glow Foundation (featured in the Light/Medium shade) which retails for $14.95. It seems a-lot darker in the bottle then it actually is. Again, one of the drawbacks of this product is that it only comes in 5 shades and (again) doesn’t seem to totally suit my skin tone. However, mine came with a fun little foundation brush (not shown) and actually works really well as a dark circle cover-up. It’s also buildable but be careful; for really dry skin it can tend to look cakey. A great way to avoid this is to make sure you moisturize really well and let it sink into your skin before applying this foundation. Also, I’ve found that if you slightly dampen a blender and apply it with that, you’ll get the more dewy look which will help combat any cakiness.
That’s it!! I’ve used many of their products but these are the ones currently featured in my arsenal. I would also like to state that I purchased all these products with my own money as wasn’t compensated or asked by Physician’s Formula to do this review. I was just in my bathroom cleaning and saw these and thought “hey… lets blog about these!”.
If you’d like to tell me what YOUR favorite PF product is, leave me some love. As always, stay beautiful!
Yay!! I was so excited to see this beautiful glossy box (the pictures don’t do the box justice) sitting on my table when I got home from work. Without further ado, the unveiling!
Not pictured is the $3/15 beauty coupon you receive in these boxes. I haven’t tried everything yet but my first impressions are:
The Love Beauty and Planet shampoo and conditioner come in the Coconut Water and Mimosa Flower set. These smell AMAZEBALLS and I am super excited to use these.
I’ve already tried the Schmidt’s natural deodorant. I’ve been wanting to try this brand for awhile; the scent isn’t overwhelming and it’s got incredibly staying power. I need to use it at work for a grueling 8 hour workday (I work in retail… lets see how it holds up). I’ll update once I know how it withstands that!
The Method body wash has a pleasant, yet subtle scent. I really like natural/organic products and Method is a brand that touts those two things.
The face products I’m really excited to try as I’m totally into skin-care products. Masks are like.. my life. I try and use one at least once a week. I love that the other two face lotions come in trial sizes as I can throw them in my purse and hydrate on the go.
If you’ve received this beauty box, let me know what you’re excited about in the comments below. Thanks!! Stay beautiful, beauties!
It’s no secret that just about everyone loves coconut oil and it’s health benefits. Whether you cook with it, drink it with your coffee, use it as a hair mask, or drench your skin in it, you’re a fan and since you’re a fan, I know you’re going to love the three new products in…
Spring has sprung and tomorrow is the Easter holiday. Whether you celebrate or not, these fun Easter/Spring products are sure to hit your sweet spot.
Korean beauty products are no new thing and this one is no eggception (see what Id id there?). This is the Holika Holika Lazy and Easy Smooth Egg Peeling Gel. It’s great for removing dead skin cells for a smooth and beautiful complexion. You can purchase it through amazon or similar beauty websites.
I’ve been a huge fan of Lush’s products ever since first finding them in Seattle, Washington. They use fair trade ingredients and many of their scents are amazing! This Golden Egg Bath Bomb is no exception. Full of various, supple oils (think olive and bergamot) with moisturizing cocoa butter, this bath bomb is sure to give your bath a luxurious feel. Plus… it has GLITTER. What’s not to love, honestly?
Etsy is one of my favorite websites to shop. You can find so many neat items there that are unique and one-of-a-kind. This bath dust is no exception. Coming straight from the quaint little shop The Sunflower Soapery they specialize in homemade soap and bath bombs. These Carrot Dusts are luxurious and smell like an orange and vanilla creamsicle. It will turn your bath water a dusky orange; which I think is quite beautiful. Click on the caption to purchase or check out her shop with the link provided.
Because I have a thing for Etsy, I couldn’t not add these adorable Easter Bunny Peeps shaped bath fizzies. Coming straight to your door from The Bath Candy Stand these are sure to be an easter basket pleaser. Scents are sent to you randomly from the seller which could include Strawberry Kiwi, Fruit Loops and even Birthday cake. Super cute and a crowd pleaser to boot!

Ok, ok, I know.. this is a beauty blog. But I wanted to give a quick shout-out to my Auntie-in-Law, Pam, of the amazingly eclectic and hip vintage online marketplace, CVCVAULT.com. She ran the hippest ebay store in town (Californiavintageconnect.com) but has opened her own store with amazing vintage finds.
Check out some of her items currently for sale:
I have that studded skull mustard yellow hobo bag and its AMAZING! Super roomy and even has a detachable shoulder strap if you’d prefer to carry it. Honestly, this store is SO much fun to look at. And BEAUTY can be many things to many people. For some, beauty is fun makeup and stellar shadows. Others, beauty can be pretty purses and vintage frocks. Either way you slice it, Pam’s store IS beautiful and I highly recommend you check it out here.

Is anyone else crazy excited about the new Zoya Beach and Surf polish collection!??! I already know I want Zuzu, Rory and Wednesday! What are your picks? You can pick these beauties up at almost any beauty store or at Zoya’s website. Remember to look for promo codes! $8 a bottle definitely doesn’t fit on my budget list but these are definitely splurge-worthy!
Sephora and Pantone Universe (the global color authority) brings us an exciting colloboration that melds the gorgeous color of the year (Tangerine Tango) with exceptional beauty products. I’m usually not a fan of bright colors but I couldn’t help but be drawn to some of these fabulous finds. If you visit sephora.com, you can click on the Pantone Shade Finder to help you decide which products will best match your features. Here are some of my favorite picks of the season.
I’d recommend heading over to Sephora.com or your nearest Sephora store and checking out their newest colloboration with Pantone. Tangerine Tango is a perfect color for Spring and a wonderful addition to your makeup bag! As always, stay beautiful!
