I’m so excited! I just signed up for Birchbox, a monthly subscription service where for $10 a month you’re sent a box of 4-5 deluxe samples to try out. If you like the sample, you’re able to purchase the full size product in their store. I’ve heard mixed reviews about Birchbox but wanted to try it out to judge for myself. For only $10, it definitely fits on my budget list. I’ll try it for a few months and if I don’t like it, I’ll cancel. It’s that simple.
What have been your experiences with Birchbox? Any product you really loved or really hated? Let me know!
Sephora and Pantone Universe (the global color authority) brings us an exciting colloboration that melds the gorgeous color of the year (Tangerine Tango) with exceptional beauty products. I’m usually not a fan of bright colors but I couldn’t help but be drawn to some of these fabulous finds. If you visit sephora.com, you can click on the Pantone Shade Finder to help you decide which products will best match your features. Here are some of my favorite picks of the season.
I’d recommend heading over to Sephora.com or your nearest Sephora store and checking out their newest colloboration with Pantone. Tangerine Tango is a perfect color for Spring and a wonderful addition to your makeup bag! As always, stay beautiful!
I’m into hand creams like no tommorow. I have one stashed everywhere in my house! I am constantly washing my hands and the soap just drys out my skin terribly. There is nothing I hate more than dry hands.. (well, except for maybe Justin Beiber… ugh..). I saw C. Booth’s Honey and Almond Hand Cream online at ulta.com and added it to my cart. I was almost at $25 and wanted to qualify for free shipping! Without further ado, here’s what I thought of C. Booth’s Honey and Almond Hand Cream.
Pros:This hand cream is super moisturizing! It feels great going on but you have to really rub it in to absorb all the moisture. It’s great to use on scaly elbow patches and other dry areas as well as hands so I loved the versatility of it. The scent is also pleasant and its not overly cloying like some perfumed hand creams can be. The best part of this hand cream is that it LASTS. I don’t feel like I have to constantly reapply it which is a perk. The price is also fabulous; $4.99 for a huge 8oz size bottle!
Cons: Honestly, I can’t find a single thing wrong with this hand cream. Granted, this is just my opinion. Some might find this hand cream too greasy or not like the smell. Personally, it moisturizes my dry skin superbly and I’m eager to try other C. Booth products. There Pink Grapefruit Body Butter looks scrumptious! =)
Have you ladies ever tried any C. Booth products? If so, I’d love to hear your feedback. What are some of your favorite hand creams? Leave me some love!
I’ve recently discovered a new line of facial care products at my local Target that I’m currently trying out. The line is called Simple, and its the UK’s #1 skincare line. They call themselves the “sensitive skin experts”. Since my skin is super sensitive, I thought this might be a skincare line I could get on board with!
Target was debuting this skincare line and had a $1 off coupon on any Simple product. I purchased the Simple moisturizing face wash as I needed a good face wash anyways, and I also purchased the soothing facial toner.
So far, what I like about these products is that they are made with no harsh ingredients, dye free, and completely unscented. They feel good going on my skin and it looks visibly brighter. However, I don’t think the moisturizing face wash is as moisturizing as it claims to be. I don’t notice much of a difference as far as moisture goes after washing and I still have to apply my Olay night creme.
All in all, however, I’m pleased with the few products I’ve picked up. They haven’t broken out my skin, nor have they made it dry or blotchy from harsh chemicals. I’m eager to try their Revitalizing Eye Roll On as well as their Vital Vitamin Day Cream SPF 15 once my Olay day cream is used up!
Have any of you guys used Simple’s skincare line yet? If so, what did you think about it? Would love to hear from you! Visit http://www.simpleskincare.com for product details and where to buy! Prices range from $4-13, on average.
If you follow my blog, you probably know that I’m a huge fan of Target. It’s got a great selection of beauty products to fit any budget. Read on to see more of my coveted Target beauty items!
Neutrogena Age Shield Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 110 ($11.99)
This sunscreen is killer! I fell in love with it while working as a preschool teacher. I was constantly outdoors and my regular daily moisturizer just wasn’t enough to protect my skin. With an SPF of 110, I figured this product would be pretty bad ass. I was right! It feels sheer on my face and it didn’t appear super white and chalky once applied. I felt like my skin had an actual barrier of protection from the sun. Woo-hoo!
Colgate Optic White Toothpaste, 2 pack ($5.99)
I love Colgate Toothpaste. I’ve been using it since I was a kid. It’s one of the few toothpastes I feel actually gives my mouth a great cleaning. When Colgate debuted their Optic White line, I immediately wanted to try it. I had two $1 off coupons, making it an even better deal than it already was. If you brush your teeth religiously, at least twice a day, you will see whiter teeth in a few weeks. This toothpaste does actually do what it claims to do. And your mouth will thank you! A fresher, whiter smile is possible. =)
Dove Powder Anti-Perspirant 2 Pack ($4.29)
I love things that come in twos! This deodorant is great because it has a nice, fresh smell without being overly cloying. It keeps my underarms free from perspiration all day and even soothes them after shaving. A word of advice, however. If wearing black, make sure your deodorant dries thoroughly first. It can tend to leave a bit of residue on black garments when freshly applied! Other than that, it’s a really great product and wallet-friendly!
Suave Clarifying Shampoo ($1-3)
I know many women wouldn’t be caught dead buying a cheap, drugstore shampoo. Let me just say, however, that Suave’s products have come a loooong way from what they used to be. Their clarifying shampoo made my hair shiny, smell great, and feel terrific. It was smooth to the touch and felt super clean. Squeaky clean, even! What it didn’t do was leave my hair greasy or dry. My hair felt better than it had in years. Some of the more expensive shampoos didn’t even do that! I’d definitely recommend trying this product before you judge. You just may be surprised!
I hope you enjoyed these better beauty buys from Target. What have been some of your favorite beauty purchases from Target? Anything you’ve regretted buying? Leave me some feedback and/or advice! Thanks again for following me.
I’m always on the lookout for new beauty sites and I’ve found a bevy of them that I wanted to share with my readers. This is by no means an exhaustive list! Just a few sites that I believe tie in to what this blog is all about; great products at amazing prices. Read on for more!
Smallflower.com is a website I found while reading my InStyle magazine. It features products from around the world and was founded in 1875 as an Apothecary. How cool is that?! It’s website is charming and well-organized and the beauty products are literally to-die-for. It features higher-end products like amazing Diptyque candles and authentic french perfumes to classic wallet-friendly items like the original German Nivea Creme Soft Soap and various $5 bath oils. With its vast selection of products at literally every price point, you’re sure to find something to love!
I can’t write an article about beauty websites without including the mother of all beauty sites. Sephora is a popular beauty destination that has something for everyone. From $10 gifts to budget-friendly fragrances, its a great place to shop for things you love without having to spend a bundle. Samples are included with every order, and you can almost always find a promotional code to use for extra perks and savings.
Going on a trip? This website is a fantastic resource to use for buying products that are the perfect size for air-travel. No more hassling with pouring your beauty products in miniscule tubes! This site has great brands you know and love that are prepackaged for you and travel friendly. Brands such as Yes to Cucumbers and Supergoop! are available and you can either buy products separately or in great little sets. Either way, you know you won’t have to be hassled at the security checkpoint by having that 4oz container in your carry-on. This website is also good if you just want to try out a small sample of a product before committing to the full sized version.
I know many of you may already utilize amazon.com for various shopping needs. Did you also know that amazon has a separate beauty site for your product fix? Great prices and familar brands (think Olay, Cetaphil and Philosophy) you’ll never have to leave the comfort of your own home to shop for your favorite items. Many items include free super saver shipping with purchases of $25 or more and you can set up automatic delivery so you’ll never have to worry about running out of something.
These are just a few of my favorite websites. I’d love to hear some feedback from my readers! What are some of your tried-and-true beauty sites? Any that you wouldn’t recommend? As always, thanks for reading.
I know that for many of us, finding a skincare routine can be challenging depending on our skin’s conditions. For instance, I have sensitive, dry skin with a bit of redness in the winter months. It’s hard for me to find products that don’t irritate or aggravate my already crazy skin! I’m always in the market for new skincare products, particularly moisturizers with SPF in them. Here’s my current skincare routine.
In the morning, I’ll usually splash my face with plain water and add a bit of Olay Regenerist Serum, Fragrance Free. It doesn’t irritate my skin and it helps even out my skin tone a bit. On top of that, I’ll also add Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer, SPF 15 for Sensitive Skin . It’s a fantastic moisturizer, though I do wish the SPF would be at least 30. It doesn’t leave my skin greasy, nor does it have a heavy sunscreen smell. It’s light and refreshing and it doesn’t clog my pores like other moisturizers tend to do. After that, I’ll apply any makeup I plan to wear and head out!
Evenings are a different story. If I’ve worn makeup, I’ll use Johnson’s Baby Oil to remove all of it, even eye makeup!. For some, I know oil can break people out. With my dry skin, however, I’ve found that I really need that extra moisture. It’s a great makeup remover that I’ve been using since I was a teenager. It’s cheap and gets the job done! Next, I’ll wash my face using either L’Oreal Go 360 Clean Sensitive Skin or Olay Foaming Face Wash depending on if I’m washing my face in the shower or at the sink. After that, I’ll apply Sea Breeze Toner to give my face a refreshing, deeper clean. It’s great for sensitive skin and I love the tingling sensation it gives me! Afterwards, I’ll apply my Olay Regenerist Serum again to really give my skin that evened, toned look. I’ll finish up with an eye-cream sample (I have tons from buying so many goodies on Sephora!) and moisturize with Olay Age-Defying Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream. It has a very pleasant floral scent and really sinks into my skin. I wake up the next morning with beautiful, soft skin! It’s amazing.
If you’ve noticed, I use a-lot of Olay products. They’re relatively inexpensive, and they actually work! They have products that work with virtually any skin type and you can find them at most drugstores. Now, I’m not a brand snob and am open to trying other skin care products. I’ve been wanting to try the Yes to Carrots brand for sometime. Also, a new skincare line I was just reading about called Simple caught my eye. Apparently, it’s targeted for individuals with sensitive skin.
What’s your skin-care routine? I’d love to hear about your tried and true products and which ones you steer clear of? Thanks for reading!
When I need beauty products, I generally tend to lean towards Target as my go-to cheap beauty retailer. However, Beauty.com is another great website to pick up those “gotta have it” items as well as cheap gifts for anyone on your list. Read on for my favorite picks for Valentine’s Day!

For the skin-care junkie, try out Bliss Fabulous Treatment Starter Kit ($36). This kit is a great deal as it includes an incredibly foamy face wash, eye cream, and a face lotion with an SPF of 15! If someone on your list is looking for a new skin care regime, this is a perfect gift to give them.
Know someone whose in the market for a great dry shampoo? Look no further than this Jonathan Product Freshen Up Mist for Hair and Skin ($18). Some men can be relatively clueless when it comes to picking out products for themselves. Luckily, this article takes the guesswork out of it and helps you pick the perfect gift for your man.
As always, I turn to my trusted and true beauty site Sephora for amazing gifts and even better prices. They have products for every price point and haven’t let me down yet. This Anthony Logistics For Men Mud Scub Exfoliating Bar is perfect for my man! He’s a surfer and a swimmer and the salt and chlorine really dry out his skin. This bar promises to exfoliate and soften without drying his already parched skin. Beware of the scent; if you or your man aren’t huge mint fans, this bar might be something you’d want to pass on. ($14.50)
Another great product to try is Jack Black’s Post Shave Cooling Gel. This aftershave has scents of aloe, sage and lavender and promises to cool skin and help banish redness. Great for nicks and cuts, and claims to even help sunburns! Since my man’s a surfer, sunburns are always an issue. It’s nice to know there’s a product out there that can make him smell good after a shave and help combat any burns he might get from hanging ten! ($19)
One of my favorite drugstores is Target, and I can always find wallet-friendly products there for my man. A favorite is Ralph Lauren’s Romance Silver For Men Cologne. It smells great without being completely overwhelming. It’s also one of the few designer colognes you can get without having to pay a fortune for it. If you’re looking for a new scent to try out on your man, I’d definitely recommend this. ($31.99).
