First, the BACKGROUND (as stated by Supergoop)
As part of the new generation of sun protection, Supergoop City Sunscreen Serum is a multitasking, broad spectrum SPF 30 UV blocker that is lightweight and non-greasy. Best of all, it helps skin cells regenerate to give your skin a refreshed, youthful look and it even helps reduce the appearance of small lines and wrinkles! Winner of the Triangle Award in Excellence in Sun Safety by the American Academy of Dermatology and clinically tested for effectiveness and safety, this high quality sunscreen is non-irritating, made with natural preservatives, and is free of parabens.
Who It’s For: Ideal for normal to dry skin types, especially skin that has started to show signs of aging and needs more intensive treatment and protection.
How It Works:
- Uniprotect PT-3 helps reduce oxidation, wrinkles, age spots, and skin roughness.
- Hydrovtin 24 keeps skin hydrated and provides UV protection.
Results: Clinical studies indicate that there is a 78% reduction in UV-induced oxidation and a 32% decrease in UV-induced redness after 48 hours.
Suggested Use: Apply daily to face and neck after cleansing. Can be used alone or under foundation as a primer. Not water resistant.
PROS
Initial application was great! No tacky feeling, sticky residue or overpowering sunscreen smell. I think that because it’s a “serum”, this helps the sunscreen’s consistency from feeling too weird. It definitely kept my skin moisturized and hydrated and I was able to apply my makeup over it which was great! It’s also non-greasy and comes in a pump bottle which I loved and of course has a decent amount of SPF (30+).
CONS
It’s not water resistant which is a bit of a bummer as I can’t go swimming without it washing off. However, I think that’s a small price to pay for a sunscreen that actually feels great going on.
FINAL RATING:4/5
Overall, it’s a great product for a little money. If you have parched skin and hate having to apply sunscreen for fear of it becoming even more dry… never fear! Supergoop is here! You can order it online here.
